UN Women created Women Count to shift how gender statistics are used, created, shared, and accessed so that it can inform policy and advocacy efforts. Ending Violence Against Women (EVAW) data is one piece in the Women Count program.

Goal

Design a platform that provides seamless access to global data on all forms of violence against women, which will then educate and empower users to define policy, implement change, and improve conditions for women worldwide.

  • Understanding the Users

    User interviews were conducted to define personas and journeys.

    Interviewed 8 people and collected 4 hours and 45 minutes of recorded and transcribed insights

  • Defining the Experience

    Baking EVAW data into the existing Women Count Portal meant assessing the current site architecture and content structure to ensure a seamless experience for users.

Building a Story Through Data

Compelling statistics are used on the landing page to create a high-level connection to the portal’s data.
